MallaSJ - Creative Writing

At the introduction we were asked to write questions for a classmate we’d never spoken to before. We then interviewed each other for 2,5 minutes each. From the answers we got we were supposed to write the other person’s life story (it didn’t have to be accurate, of course). It was quite fun! :) I've chosen to leave out the person's name here, but in the original story I used her full name.

The Story of "T"

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named T. She came from a little place, deep in the forests of Värmland. A place where bears roar, a place you’d meet a moose on your way to school, a place where words are shortened and Volvos are as holy as cows in India. A place called Torsby.

Now, there’s not very much to do around Torsby, except from riding around in Volvos or skiing, they ski a lot around Torsby. But little T wasn’t a fan of neither skiing nor Volvos. Something you should know about T is that she has a remarkable singing voice. However, she was too afraid to sing in front of people, because she didn’t really believe that anyone would like it. And also a little bit because she was scared people would laugh at her shortened words.

Then one day, T happened to hear some sweet, sweet tunes coming from the TV. She just had to know where this angel like music originated from. In a daze, T slowly (almost like in slow-mo, like just in the movies) slided into the living room to find, only the most amazing show ever on the screen. Awesome outfits, fierce dancing and breathtaking voices. It was all she’d ever dreamt of. It was Glee.

Having discovered her lifelong dream of being a part of a show choir, T realized she couldn’t stay in the depths of the Värmlandsforests. So she decided to go to the city. She packed her belongings and left for the big metropolis, Karlstad, where moose only exists in the outskirts of town. And she started a show choir. A show choir so amazing, dazzling and sparkling, even diamonds went into hiding ‘cause of the shame by the comparison.
